When using this for gas, it is advisable to steep ½ tsp seeds into1 cup of boiling water for 10 minutes then drink this. You can also add these to vegetables of stir fries while cooking.

 

  • Try This Mixture– Take 1 tsp of lemon juice, ½ tsp of baking powder and 1 cup of water. Mix this well and drink after meals as flatulence remedy. You should not add ice because this can cause some digestive spasms which in turn cause gas.

 

  • Tea herbs- There are different tea herbs which come in handy when it comes to addressing flatulence and these include cloves, ginger, peppermint, cinnamon, aniseed and sage. Steep ½ a teaspoon in one cup of boiling water and add some honey or lemon. Drink this 1 to 3 times a day as an effective flatulence remedy.

  • Fatty foods

  • Potatoes
  • Bran and whole grain cereal
  • Gravy, chutney and sauces
  • Meat that contains too much fat
  • Fruits like bananas, apples and grapes

 

In addition to this, you can also practice the following food eating habits in order to ensure you don’t suffer from flatulence.

 

  • Taking time to chew food properly and especially starch foods.
  • It is advisable not to eat your food too fast
  • Avoid bread that has been made using sour dough
  • After meals, it is not advisable to lie down or sit back. Take a slow walk or do light tasks in order to ensure food settles well. This also comes in handy because it helps with digestion and keeps flatulence at bay.
  • Instead of having one large meal, take three simple meals and while at it, also take time to chew slowly.
  • When having drinks, do not slurp because this takes air along with your drink and as such, triggers flatulence. In the same breath, you should avoid using straws when taking drinks because then you have to build the suction pressure through sucking in air.
