Maybe you wake up in the morning and realized your nose is blocked and it is swollen. That is a clear indication that you are suffering from nasal congestion. Commonly known as nasal blockage, nasal congestion is a condition whereby, the nasal passage of one nose is blocked, due to swelling of the lining that is inside the nose. The condition can also attack ears, thus hindering them from hearing effectively. Worse still, the blockage of the nose can cause one to snore during the night. In addition, nasal congestion has been deemed responsible for causing sleep apnea, a condition that interferes with the sleeping patterns, which is normally common in children.
Nasal congestion in children has also been perceived responsible for chronic sleeping disorders. For babies, the condition has been attributed to an interference with the breast feeding. This has further been linked to prompting respiratory distress. Nevertheless, the condition can only be a nuisance to grown ups and adolescents, but there is no scientific prove that nasal congestion in adults can cause further complications.
